Support Independent Journalism
The Transcript runs on reader support.
And coffee. Mostly coffee.
The Transcript has no shareholders, no parent company, and no billionaire with a personal agenda and a fondness for rockets. What we have is readers. If you find value in what we do — or at least find it mildly diverting — consider supporting us. It costs less than you think and means more than we will probably express.

Why support The Transcript?
The Transcript carries a single sponsor slot across its pages. That sponsor does not influence, review, or approve our coverage in any way. Beyond that, The Transcript does not run advertising, does not accept sponsored content, and does not have a comments section, which we consider a form of reader protection. It does not share your data with third parties, send you unsolicited emails, or pivot to video.
What it does is publish the news as it is, interpreted with the detachment that comes from having watched it long enough to notice the patterns. If that seems worth supporting, we are grateful. If it does not, we understand, and we will continue publishing regardless, though perhaps with slightly cheaper coffee.
Payments are processed securely by Ko-fi. The Transcript does not store your payment details.
Print Subscriber memberships renew monthly and can be cancelled at any time from your Ko-fi account.
